GTA 6 Ultimate Edition: what you actually get

The short answer

GTA 6 Ultimate Edition costs 99.99 USD, 20 USD more than the 79.99 USD Standard Edition. For that extra money, Rockstar confirms you get exclusive vehicles, weapons, apparel and businesses, plus two extra side missions. Both editions contain the full main game.

The row that matters most is the top one. Standard Edition is not a stripped down or limited version of GTA 6. It is the full game Rockstar built. Ultimate Edition is that same game with a bundle of extras stacked on top.

What the extra 20 USD actually buys

Rockstar’s own PlayStation Store listing is specific about this, and it is worth quoting exactly rather than guessing. Ultimate Edition adds:

• Exclusive vehicles. Extra cars, bikes or similar available to Ultimate Edition owners that are not part of the Standard Edition.
• Exclusive weapons. Additional weapons on top of the base game’s weapon set.
• Exclusive apparel. Extra clothing and cosmetic items for your characters.
• Exclusive businesses. Additional in-world businesses beyond what Standard Edition players get.
• Two extra side missions. Additional optional content beyond the main story, which is identical across both editions.

That is the complete confirmed list. Rockstar has not published exactly which vehicles, weapons, or businesses these are, what they look like, or how long the two side missions take to complete. Anyone claiming to know those details right now is guessing, because nobody outside Rockstar has played the game yet.

Don’t confuse this with the Vintage Vice City Pack

It is easy to mix up the Ultimate Edition bonuses with the separate pre-order bonus, so it is worth being precise here.

The Vintage Vice City Pack is not an Ultimate Edition exclusive. It comes free with a pre-order of either edition, Standard or Ultimate, as long as you pre-order before 20 November 2026. It contains a 1955 Vapid Stanier sedan and a garage, access to Ocean Beach, outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia, and a themed weapon pattern.

So a Standard Edition pre-order gets the Vintage Vice City Pack too. Buying Ultimate does not double up on that specific bonus. It adds a separate, larger set of exclusive content on top of whichever edition you already bought.

The GTA+ free month

Both editions come with the same GTA+ benefit if you pre-order digitally: one free month of the subscription. This is not an Ultimate Edition exclusive either. It applies the same way regardless of which edition you choose, provided the purchase is digital.

Buying physically does not carry the same guarantee, since Rockstar has only confirmed the free month for digital pre-orders specifically.

Is Ultimate Edition worth the extra money

This comes down to what you actually care about, not which edition is “better,” because the main game is identical in both.

Ultimate Edition makes sense if you like having extra vehicles, weapons and outfits from the start of the game, you want every optional business available, and two additional side missions feel worth 20 USD to you on top of a game you were already buying.

Standard Edition makes sense if you mainly care about the main story, you would rather spend that 20 USD elsewhere, or you are not sure yet how much you will play and do not want to pay upfront for cosmetic and vehicle extras you might not use much.

Neither choice affects your access to the free Vintage Vice City Pack or the free month of GTA+, since both of those come from pre-ordering, not from which edition you pick. The honest answer is that Ultimate Edition is a content add-on, not a different tier of the core game, and Rockstar has been upfront about exactly what is in it.

How Ultimate Edition pricing compares by region

The 20 USD gap between editions is not identical everywhere once you look at the confirmed and reported numbers side by side.

The US and UK gap is confirmed directly. The India, Canada and Australia figures are press reported rather than confirmed by Rockstar, the same as on our full GTA 6 price page, so treat the size of that gap in those regions as likely rather than locked in.

Should you upgrade later instead of buying Ultimate now

Rockstar has not said anything publicly about whether players will be able to upgrade from Standard to Ultimate after launch by paying the difference. Some publishers allow this for other games. None has been confirmed for GTA 6. If you are unsure whether the extras are worth it, waiting for reviews before deciding is a reasonable approach, but you should not assume an upgrade path will exist. If one is not offered, buying Standard now and deciding you want Ultimate later could mean paying full price for it separately, or not being able to get it at all outside a possible reissue. Until Rockstar says otherwise, the safer assumption is that your choice at launch is the edition you are stuck with.

Who Ultimate Edition is aimed at

Going by what Rockstar has confirmed, the Ultimate Edition content leans towards players who spend a lot of time inside the open world doing more than just the main story, since exclusive vehicles, weapons, apparel and businesses only matter if you are out exploring and using them. A player who mostly wants to finish the story once and move on gets identical access to that story with the Standard Edition, and would likely get the least value out of the extra 20 USD.
