GTA 6 Record / Answer
GTA 6 pre order: what you get and how it works
GTA 6 pre orders opened 25 June 2026. Here is what each edition includes, the free bonuses, and what is not yet confirmed about cancelling or refunds.
The short answer
GTA 6 pre-orders have been open since 25 June 2026. Every pre-order gets a free bonus pack, and prices depend on the edition and your country.
You can pre-order now through the PlayStation Store, the Xbox Store, or a participating retailer. The game itself releases on 19 November 2026.
When pre-orders opened
Rockstar Games opened pre-orders on 25 June 2026, worldwide, for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The date and the prices were announced together on Rockstar’s own Newswire the day before, on 24 June 2026. That is a direct, official announcement, not a leak or a retailer guess.
The two editions and what they cost
There are two editions. Prices vary by country because of tax and currency rules, but the pattern is the same everywhere: the Ultimate Edition costs about 20 to 25 percent more than the Standard Edition.
| Region | Standard Edition | Ultimate Edition |
|---|---|---|
| United States | 79.99 USD | 99.99 USD |
| United Kingdom | 69.99 GBP | 89.99 GBP |
| Europe | 79.99 EUR | 99.99 EUR |
| Canada | 109.99 CAD | 139.99 CAD |
| Australia | 129.95 AUD | 159.95 AUD |
| India | Rs 5,999 | Rs 7,499 |
The US, UK, and Europe prices come straight from Rockstar’s own Newswire and store listings. The Canada, Australia, and India prices are reported by gaming press rather than confirmed on Rockstar’s own site, so treat those as reliable but not official.
What the Ultimate Edition adds
The Ultimate Edition is not a separate game. It is the same game with extra content bundled in. According to the PlayStation Store listing, it adds exclusive vehicles, weapons, apparel, and businesses, plus two extra side missions that are not part of the Standard Edition.
If you only care about the main story and do not want extra cosmetic or side content, the Standard Edition gets you the same core game for less money.
What every pre-order includes
This is the part that applies no matter which edition or platform you choose. Anyone who pre-orders before 20 November 2026 gets the Vintage Vice City Pack for free. Rockstar’s own support page lists what is in it:
- A 1955 Vapid Stanier sedan, plus a garage to store it in
- Access to Ocean Beach, an area of the map
- Outfits and hairstyles for both Jason and Lucia, the game’s two lead characters
- A themed weapon pattern
This pack is not sold separately. The only way to get it is to pre-order before the cut-off date. Once 20 November 2026 passes, which is the day after launch, it is gone.
The GTA+ bonus, and why it only applies to digital
On top of the Vintage Vice City Pack, anyone who pre-orders digitally also gets one free month of GTA+, Rockstar’s subscription service. This bonus is tied to digital pre-orders specifically. Rockstar’s Newswire lists it as part of the digital pre-order offer, and it is not mentioned as part of the physical pre-order bonus.
If getting the free GTA+ month matters to you, pre-order digitally rather than picking up a physical copy at a shop.
Digital versus physical: the part people miss
A lot of buyers assume a physical pre-order means a disc with the whole game on it, ready to play the moment they get home. That is not how GTA 6 physical copies work.
According to GameSpot’s reporting, physical copies of GTA 6 ship with a download code, not the full game on disc. You still need an internet connection and enough free storage to download the game after you put the disc in, or redeem the code. The disc itself is not a complete offline copy.
This matters for planning. If you are buying physical because you have a slow or limited internet connection, a physical pre-order will not solve that problem. You will still be downloading the bulk of the game on release day, the same as anyone who bought digitally.
Where to pre-order
Pre-orders are live through the official digital storefronts and through retailers that stock the physical edition:
- PlayStation Store, for PS5
- Xbox Store, for Xbox Series X|S
- Physical retailers, where the game is sold as either edition on disc
The prices listed above are the official prices for digital purchases through PlayStation and Xbox. Retailer pricing for physical copies can vary and is not something Rockstar controls or publishes centrally.
What is not known about cancelling or getting a refund
Rockstar has not published a GTA 6 specific policy on cancelling a pre-order or getting a refund. Nothing in Rockstar’s own announcements covers this.
In practice, this means a pre-order almost certainly falls under the normal refund rules of wherever you bought it. PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and individual retailers each have their own standard refund policies for pre-orders, and those would apply here the same as they would to any other game. But that is an assumption based on how digital storefronts normally work, not a confirmed GTA 6 specific answer. If you are relying on being able to cancel, check the refund terms of the exact store you are buying from before you pay.
Standard or Ultimate: which one to pick
If money is tight, the Standard Edition gets you the full game, the same story, the same map, and the same two lead characters. You are not missing any part of the main game by skipping Ultimate.
The Ultimate Edition makes more sense if you know you enjoy collecting cosmetic extras and extra vehicles from day one, or if the two bonus side missions matter to you. Neither edition changes the release date. Both unlock on 19 November 2026, and both come with the Vintage Vice City Pack if you pre-order before 20 November 2026.
What is still unconfirmed
A few things about pre-ordering are simply not public yet:
- Whether there will be any additional pre-order bonuses announced closer to launch, beyond the Vintage Vice City Pack
- Exact retailer-by-retailer physical stock or shipping dates
- Any regional pricing outside the countries listed above
If Rockstar changes any pre-order term, this page will be updated the same day, and the checked date at the top will move with it.
Common questions
- When did GTA 6 pre-orders open?
- Pre-orders opened worldwide on 25 June 2026. Rockstar announced the date and the prices together on its Newswire the day before.
- What do I get for pre-ordering GTA 6?
- Every pre-order placed before 20 November 2026 comes with the Vintage Vice City Pack for free, on either edition. Digital pre-orders also get one free month of GTA+.
- Can I cancel a GTA 6 pre-order or get a refund?
- Rockstar has not published a cancellation or refund policy for GTA 6 specifically. Any cancellation would follow the normal refund rules of the store you pre-ordered from, such as PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, or a retailer.
- Is a physical GTA 6 pre-order the same as digital?
- No. A physical copy still needs a download on release day, because the disc in the box holds a download code rather than the full game. Digital pre-orders also come with the GTA+ bonus month, which is not listed as part of the physical bonus.
